Topics include:

AI Innovations in the Workplace 

Discover AI’s practical uses in business, evaluate its risks and benefits, and debate its impact on employment. 

IT Systems and Business Functions 

  • Recognising Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Safeguarding, Prevent, and British values in digital context.  
  • Understanding online safety, plagiarism, and responsible AI use 
  • Identifying business functions and matching IT systems (CRM, ERP) and analysing strategic tools including SWOT and Kaizen. 

Digital Communication and Etiquette  

Using digital tools professionally and appropriately, understanding tone, clarity and inclusivity on Zoom, Teams, email and chat. 

Data Architecture and Microsoft Excel 

Learn data structures and Excel skills for effective analysis, planning, and communication through formulas, filters, and charts. 

Cloud Computing Essentials 

Understand cloud computing concepts and models and evaluate their business impact. 

Cyber Security and IT Policies 

Learn to identify digital threats, implement preventative measures, and understand key IT policies and ISO standards for protection. 

Unemployed?

If you are unemployed, you can apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you meet the eligibility criteria, at no cost to you (the course will be fully funded). If you are currently employed, but looking to reskill for a career change with a new employer, you can apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you meet the eligibility criteria, at no cost to you (the course will be fully funded).

Employed?

If you are employed, and looking to upskill to take on additional responsibilities or a new position with your current employer, then your employer will be asked to contribute 10% or 30% of the course price, depending on the business size.

*Eligibility

You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you:

  • Are aged 19 or over
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Must be residents of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Wolverhampton
  • Meet residency requirements
  • Meet minimum education requirements for a particular course
  • Have access to a laptop/PC with reliable internet access
  • If you claim Universal Credit, you can apply and continue to claim benefits

  • Price: Bootcamps are funded for most learners as long as you meet the eligibility criteria*
  • Duration: 110 hours of guided learning and 30 hours of independent study
  • Delivery: Online and part-time to fit around work and life commitments
