After losing his job, Gabe faced a difficult period both emotionally and financially. Months of unemployment and repeated rejections left him feeling disheartened and unsure of what the future held.
In March 2025, Gabe joined the Restart Scheme, determined to turn things around. From the start, his adviser from Ingeus, Chanel-Monét, provided consistent support and encouragement. Together, they worked on rebuilding Gabe’s confidence and improving his job search strategy. He attended interview skills workshops, joined job clubs, and received tailored coaching to strengthen his applications.
Chanel-Monét also encouraged Gabe to apply for internal roles, and with recommendations from Team Leaders, he applied for an Engagement Advisor position at Ingeus. After a successful interview in October, Gabe was offered the role and started work in November 2025.
Reflecting on his journey, Gabe says “I would tell everyone: don’t be scared of rejection. Keep persevering. With the Restart Scheme’s support, you will find a sustainable, rewarding job.”
For Gabe, this new role represents more than employment; it’s a fresh start and a chance to build a career. He is now focused on progressing within the organisation and working hard to achieve his long-term goals.
