Generous staff and partners delighted children and families across Birmingham, Coventry, West Bromwich and Cardiff this December. As well as donating new and pre-loved toys for Restart Scheme participants, our offices also supported other incentives:
- Coventry – A selection of toys and gifts were donated to Holbrooks Community Care Association for local children in need. Items ranged from baby toys and gift sets to Lego and creative play sets.
- West Bromwich – Colleagues were assigned specific items from the Black Country Woman’s Aid, including pyjama sets and football boots to arts and crafts materials and toys, ensuring each child received something meaningful and personal.
- Birmingham – New toys were donated to the Toys4Birmingham/Thrive Together Birmingham appeal, which provides gifts for some of the city’s most vulnerable children.
- Cardiff – Donations were made to refugee families via the Welsh Refugee Council, helping bring comfort and joy to those facing challenging circumstances over the holiday season. Donations were kindly donated by Case Uk, Cardiff and Vale College and Charles Street Jobcentre Plus, as well as via a JustGiving page set up by Partnership Manager, David Elsmere.

Furthermore, our Employer Engagement team received very generous toy donations from Smyths Toys, who wanted to extend their support to Restart Scheme participants across our offices. And instead of buying Secret Santa gifts, the Employment, Skills and Training Senior Management team donated to the Toy Box Project in Wales and Toys4Birmingham.
Suki Gill, Social Value Lead said:
“By going above and beyond, we demonstrate our commitment to the communities we serve – working alongside valued partners to create genuine social value and bring festive joy to children who might otherwise have gone without”.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Serco and our colleagues, we were able to brighten the holidays for countless children across our communities. Thank you to everyone that made this possible.
